100% solar-powered ice-maker, cool room and freezer
The continued reliance of cold chain operations on diesel poses significant economic, social and environmental problems. Fuel supply and maintenance are logistically challenging, especially in remote off-grid locations. Remote communities contend with food insecurity and water scarcity on a daily basis due in part to not having any proper cold chain infrastructure. Meanwhile, critical social services like hospitals, funerals, and markets usually have no choice but to connect to an unreliable main grid power resulting to productivity loss. Business owners also struggle to retain quality of their produce and meet market demand due to lack of cold storage infrastructure and transportation. These issues in the cold chain industry are compounded by the amount of toxic carbon emissions from business-as-usual diesel practices. So how does our award-winning technology solve these problems?
We innovate traditional ice-makers, cool rooms and freezers using clean, renewable energy from the sun!
Our mobile, modular and rapidly deployable Solarators® are specifically designed for high performance, temperature-controlled cold storage operations, and can be used across a range of industries. Our Solarators® work as efficiently as standard industrial and commercial freezers and chillers, minus the environmental and health issues from using diesel. Our eco-friendly, cold chain product range is 100% solar-powered with battery back-up requiring no fuel, generator or grid connection, giving you the reassurance of an uninterrupted and reliable power supply. Our team of cold chain specialists will help you find the ideal Solarator® to achieve your financial and sustainability goals. Get in touch now.
How do Solarators® work
Solarators® deliver significant financial returns and positive environmental outcomes through a complex engineering configuration of solar, battery and (bio) diesel. Solar energy collected during daylight is used for immediate needs. During night operation, batteries provide energy to the refrigeration system allowing for 24/7 cooling, freezing and ice-making in all conditions, 365 days a year. Any excess renewable power being produced over the system’s demand goes into recharging the batteries.
With years of expertise in the field and use cases in various industries, we also leverage evidence-based methodology, historical performance data and a proprietary modeling tool in forecasting your Solarator® performance against diesel as well as predicting financial and environmental savings.
